Julie Schierbeek has been a Flying Goat Cellars wine club member since Dec. 2021. She started working in the tasting room in Aug. 2022, and has been our saving grace ever since. Norm and I now have some free time for R&R and travel!   

Since moving to  California in 2008, wine tasting has become a regular past time for Julie and her husband, Jaimie. She enjoys helping people become comfortable with their own palate and discovering which wines are a good fit. Julie said, "It's a highly motivating endeavor."  A big fan of Norm’s wines, Julie also noted, "It was an easy decision to become more involved in the wine industry, which I hope will be a long term love affair!"

Julie has traveled extensively and lived in other countries, but considers the Central Coast to be the world’s best kept secret. With her children out of the house and some time on her hands, "thanks to a world changing virus," she started her home based business Central Coast Caramel Company in 2020. She's actually been making caramels since 2009. Handmade, small- batch caramels, made with love and care, have quite the loyal following and fans across the country. Julie feels her biggest accomplishments are her 36 year marriage to her husband and her two adult children.
