The nose reveals cocoa powder and espresso beans, bresaola or smoked bacon. Black cherry, red currant and lingonberry tantalize the palate while dusty, smoky tannins linger on. This wine is perfect with a Christmas ham, seasoned with clove and brown sugar, roasted glazed duck and pork tenderloin. Dark chocolate covered espresso beans and dark chocolate cake with raspberry coulis make a delicious dessert pairing too.
