2019 Pinot Gris Sierra Madre Vineyard $28 retail
$21/bottle or $235.20/case
Wine Enthusiast 93 pts. Editors' Choice.
“Norm Yost has been doing great things with the richer side of Pinot Gris for decades, and this bottling is no different. Aroma of dried lemon peel, chamomile, tart lime and water chestnut lead into a palate with a viscous texture that delivers unique flavors of citrus peel, ash and beeswax,” said Wine Enthusiast Editor Matt Kettmann.
2014 Pinot Noir Rio Vista Vineyard 2A $44 retail
$33/bottle or $369.60/case
This wine has held up beautifully over the past nine years. The deep ruby color reveals the attitude of this full-bodied wine showing dense, dark aromas and flavors. Enjoy cola, caramel, coffee and bittersweet chocolate on the nose. Blackberry, raspberry, tart cherry and other dark fruit unfold on the palate. This is a wine for Santa Maria tri-tip and BBQ ribs. Get ready for spring and summer outdoor living!
Carol Talley Artist Reception
"Luminous Landscapes"
Friday, March 24, 4-6pm
Flying Goat Cellars Tasting Room & Art Salon
1520 E. Chestnut Court, Lompoc
Carol Talley remarks, "I explore the landscape by in-person direct observation, and by recollection of the place. I utilize these approaches as a jumping off point to create a painting that incorporates the unique feeling of a location. My aim is to capture the essential form, color and gesture of place, and then distill these elements into a compelling representation, leaving the unnecessary behind and revealing the vital core of a scene. Sometimes the location can be recognized, at other times, the reference has been morphed into a dreamlike image."
