Flying Goat Cellars Video Premiers with 25 Year History

Award-winning filmmaker Steve Jacobson and VisualEyes Creative premiered their retrospective video of Flying Goat Cellars at the 25th Anniversary Celebration on June 21, 2025. The video takes winemaker and proprietor, Norm Yost, and his wife and business partner, Kate Griffith, through the journey of 25 years of producing award-winning “pinot and sparkling wine without pretense.” The 10 minute video is available for viewing on YouTube under the Flying Goat Cellars channel and on Flying Goat’s homepage.

Flying Goat Cellars is a family-owned and operated Santa Barbara County winery dedicated to producing age-worthy Pinot Noir and Sparkling Wine since 2000. With the celebration of Flying Goat’s 25th anniversary this year, the couple decided to capture the essence of their story. Part one focuses on how Flying Goat Cellars was launched by Yost and later benefited from Griffith's entry into the business. Yost also discusses sourcing grapes from the diverse vineyards of Santa Barbara County to make his terroir specific wines. In part two, Yost shares insights on his Goat Bubbles brand, awards & recognitions, "Vintner of the Year", community involvement and the next 25 years. All are invited to join in the couple’s remarkable journey of entrepreneurship.

Award-winning filmmaker Steve Jacobson won a trifecta with the 2022-2024 Wine Spectator Video Competitions: Cabernet Tonight, Love the Wine You're With and I Just Want A Zinfandel. Most recently, Jacobson’s musical parody wine video, I Just Want A Zinfandel, took the Grand Prize of the 2024 Wine Spectator Video Competition. Set to the tune of Hamilton’s iconic song “Hamilton,” this video takes a closer look at the Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines List. Jacobson toasts the diverse world of wines and indulges in the joy of trying them all. The videos are all extremely clever and humorous; perfect for viewing with a glass of Flying Goat Cellars.

Earlier this year, Sta. Rita Hills Wine Alliance revealed Flying Goat Cellars Founder and Winemaker Norm Yost as the 2025 “Vintner of the Year.” OG (Old GOAT) Yost distinguished himself with award-winning vineyard designated Pinot Noir and sparkling wine. The Alliance will award Yost at their annual Wine & Fire La Paulée Dinner on Aug. 15, 2025, at Babcock Winery, 5175 E. Hwy 246, Lompoc, CA. A few tickets are still available so purchase them while you can.

Flying Goat Cellars Tasting Room, located in the Lompoc Wine Ghetto at 1521 E. Chestnut Ct., is open Thursday-Monday 11am-4pm. Wines are also available online at flyinggoatcellars.com
