Shadow’s Fund is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping the most vulnerable shelter dogs. Senior dogs, dogs labelled as “pit bulls” and dogs with a treatable injury or illness are often passed over for adoption to they help these forgotten dogs find hope and 2nd chances.

Their 3 core programs tackle the problem from every angle. Bright Beginnings is aimed at early intervention and prevention. The Take Me Home Project provides direct rescue and rehoming for shelter dogs. For those dogs that need a little extra help, the Sheltering Oak Sanctuary provides a safety net and safe haven.

Whether out in the community or at the sanctuary, Shadow’s Fund is always working to promote responsible and humane animal stewardship. We are proud to be a sponsor for their annual fundraiser. Please  join us in this great cause and fun event.

Co-founders Jill & Cody have been our personal friends for many years, since they were working at Return to Freedom horse sanctuary on Jalama Road. We remember when they selflessly launched Shadow's Fund at a venue in Cebada Canyon in 2009. The following year they moved to their current site and had a chance to purchase the property a few years later. We fondly remember attending their wedding on the property in 2014.

In honor of their 10th Wedding Anniversary, we poured our 2014 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard for the 2024 fundraiser. It was a huge success! There were several other wineries pouring wine and tasty vegetarian food to nosh on. Please watch their 20 minute mini-documentary "Sanctuary" below.
