Harvest 2022 started for us the first week of August, which was two weeks earlier than last year. Our sparkling fruit comes in earlier than still wine fruit due to the desire for lower sugars (brix) and lower pH. An extended heat wave through Labor Day weekend also impacted our harvest schedule.

Our most exciting news of the harvest is that we picked up another old block from Bien Nacido Vineyard and the wine is showing great promise. Our Bien Nacido Block N old vines (40+ years) were pulled out a few years ago due to red blotch disease. See the barren Block N in background and the new Block 2 in foreground of photo.
